05.27.11 Also, we’re working on some music!

John Ross, our composer, has been working at the music for the film and it’s getting AMAZING. We’re so excited for how everything is coming together. A few weeks ago we had a little recording session with some NYC singers, they are pretty cute. I think they even give the famous PS 22 a run for their money.

Check it out.

05.27.11 Post Production Updates!

Sorry that we’ve been away so long! We’re working really hard to refine the cut of the film, and we’re getting really close to moving to Sound Editing, the next step.

In the past few weeks we’ve done some Voice Over work with our Sound Editor, Eric Hoffman. Megan and Vanessa came in the studio, and so did Lili. Here are some pics.

03.06.11 reOrder, New Brooklyn Musuem Exhibit

Our cinematographer, Nathan, has been up to something a bit different after the insanity that we put him through with our production… Nate’s friend, Wes, and his architecture firm SITU built this really awesome exhibit, called reOrder, at the Brooklyn Museum. Nate filmed the whole production. His time-lapse video is on display in the exhibit, but you can see it here too.

Definitely go check it out in person if you get a chance, it’s pretty awesome.

See the NY Times Article or the video that Nate made below.

On December 17, 2010 the Indepedent Press of Summit NJ published an article by Liz Kiel about our film production.

It’s not posted online, but I scanned my copy to post.

Our production deisgner, Katherine Rusch also designed HAPPY NEW YEAR which will premiere in competition at SXSW in March.

02.02.11 No Matter What

Congrats to Cherie Saulter!!!!

She’s our Production Coordinator/1st AD and more importantly – friend – who directed her first feature film last year. The film is called No Matter what, and it was just announced that it will be premiering at South by Southwest Film Festival in March 2011. Nice work Cherie and Crew!

01.07.11 The Best Performers of 2010

So it’s 2011 and we’re recapping the wild year we had last year, so are others. New Yorker Magazine has listed their favorite performers of 2011. It’s good to know that they have a good eye. They wrote up our own Adam Driver – and here’s what they said.

“Adam Driver. One of the best young actors around. The former Marine and Julliard graduate has something of Pablo Schreiver’s sexuality, and the poeticism of Frank Langella’s Trigorin in the 1975 production of “The Seagull” (available on DVD), but he is entirely himself, and possessed of a great range that Peter Scanavino evidenced straight off in his career before he left the stage for the screen. Given Driver’s unconventional looks—he could usher in a new look in leading men, just as Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel did in the seventies—and ambition, it’s fascinating to watch the actor meld with the burgeoning star in part after part.”

Watch out for him!

Not Waving But Drowning is an independent feature film that wrapped production in fall, 2010. Shot in Pinellas County, FL and New York City, the film's cast includes Megan Guinan, Vanessa Ray, Lynn Cohen, Scott Bryce, Adam Driver & Isabelle Mcnally.

The film examines time and how it passes through us and changes us. The story is set during a time of great chaos in a pair of best friends lives. In the heat of this "Revolution Summer", they shed old skins and come into their new selves, together.

The Most Girl Part of You is a short film that will precede "Not Waving But Drowning", based on a story of the same name by Amy Hempel.

This short clip establishes the mood, tone and aesthetic of Not Waving But Drowning. It is not a trailer for the film but meant to give a representation of how we want the end product to look and feel.
